Catherine Bellanca is a freelance photo editor currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. In her spare time she creates Polaroid transfers involving a complicated, time-consuming process that she has been refining for five years. She starts with her own 35mm slides - images drawn from the various neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Long Island's East End.

"A slide printer produces a Polaroid of these chromes. The emulsion component of the Polaroid carries a positive of the image photographed, which is then transferred to a moist sheet of high quality print paper. Each print produced is unique due to the vast number of variables involved with the process, such as temperature, time, etc ..."
